However, it is our "K-9 BOOT CAMP" program that has been the foundation of our success as the premire pet dog training facility on Florida's gulf coast. Our pet dog "K-9 BOOT CAMP" is a training program like no other. It has been singled out for excellence and written-up in several dog publications. This unique obedience program is resident training program that teaches both the pet dog, as well as, his owner.

The dog is boarded at Von Asgard K-9 Center for a minimum of seven full days and is trained during his stay. While at "K-9 BOOT CAMP", your dog receives all the 'DUDE RANCH' boarding features, such as, 'Super-Sized' kennels, three free-running play sessions each day, 'Super-Premium' food & etc. Each day five short 15 to 20 minute training sessions are scheduled. They are interspursed around the three play sessions so that the dog is out of his kennel each hour, eight times-a-day. It truely is like sending a child off to a high-activity summer camp or to Marine Boot Camp.

By training five times a day for short periods of time, in the course of a seven day week we will have 35 training sessions with your dog while utilizing only his prime attention span. Successful training can quickly be accomplished with such a intensive, focused schedule. We train using 'Motivation', 'Consistancy' and 'Repetition'. Most trainers 'teach' your dog to do something . . . We develop the 'habit' of him doing things correctly.

Your dog will master seven major excercises:

1.) To not jump up on people or things.

2.) To walk nicely on a leash, without pulling and to change direction automatically when you do.

3.) To come sharply and quickly when you call him.

4.) To accomplish a very snappy 'sit'.

5.) To calmly give focused attention.

6.) To do a consistant and quick 'down'.

7.) To settle into a real solid 'stay'.

Note: To these basis seven excercises, you can add several 'custom' things to be trained during "K-9 BOOT CAMP" without any additional cost. 'Custom' items might include: Crate Training, Problem Solving or, for example, (Von Asgard's exclusive) 'Invisible Leash' Training.

When your dog has graduated from "K-9 BOOT CAMP", we have you (and the others in your household) come in for a two hour training session. We discuss the psychology of each excercise, the underpinnings and exactly how your dog accomplished each excercise. We teach you how to handle the dog in each excercise and physically work with you to master the handling techniques. We then show you just how well your dog is trained, by bring out your dog and, with us doing the handling, show you just how well he readily responds.

Only then do we put you together with your dog and work with you and your dog until the two of you are functioning as a team and sharply doing all the excercises.

We then teach you a five minute routine that you can do with your dog when you get home. This five minute routine, done four times a day for a short period at your home, will develop the habit of him responding correctly for you at your location.

Whatever basic equipment we utilized in his training, we send home with you so you can work with him exactly as we had.
