Our New Puppy

We dont have him yet, he is only 4 weeks old. For a few more weeks he'll be with his mom. We are leaning towards naming him "Nitro". What is he? He is a yellow labrador retriever. His mom is a Master Hunter and a Show Champion. She also has agility and obedience titles. We have great hopes for this little guy.

So, I have to start figuring out, what am I going to get this little puppy to start off his life?

1. A dog crate

I need to find a nice sized dog crate that can fold and that has a divider. Though when we get him he'll only be about eight pounds, in just a few short months, he'll be a nice sized dog, probably upt to 70 - 90 pounds full grown. Dogs house train faster in smaller crates - if its too big they have room to move around too much and piddle.

2. A cute puppy collar and leash

The first few weeks he'll be on leash in the house all the time so we need one that is small and light weight. I'll probably invest in a premier collar and leash - I like the martingale no slip non-choke style.

3. Toys!

Puppy kongs, fleecy toys, rope toys, the whole kaboodle! You dont want them to get bored with one toy, so buy a few.
