My 5 month old Dobe whines constantly. In her crate, in the kitchen (we have a gate up and keep her in there when we cannot supervise her in the rest of the house), even when she is sitting right next to us. I have tried ignoring it, but it's very hard. I'll tell her "NO!" and she'll stop for about 2 minutes, then starts right back up again. In the morning...ha! She starts whining and howling every morning at 6:45am....and it's not because she has to go out. My husband lets her out at 6am before work.

I know it's not because she has to go out, she will do this right after she comes in. This is driving me crazy!! What can I do?

You can try squirting her with water, i recommend saying "quiet" first and then praising for any quiet behavior. When she is quiet, try to toss in a treat or let her out for a bit.

I've just brought a puppy 11weeks old, When we have no choice but to leave him alone, he is left with the stair gate shut! the kitchen is dog proof, with lots of toys!!!!!.. He has lots of human contact, when we are home. and we are gone he moans for a maximum of five mins.. (please tell me would you like to be liked up in a creat?).. I wouldn't I'd be shouted If I was a dog!..
I'm afraid you have to understand, a dogs emotion, (unconditional love!, affection, and fun, toys, chews for teething!).. Sorry if I sounded harsh.. But dogs want to please you WHEN they are happy..
xx
