Summer Canine Academy

In addition to our regular group classes and Puppy Play
Group (described in the thread on dog training in RI and MA),
we will be offering some new activities this summer:

The AKC's Canine Good Citizen test will be given on May 22
and July 10. The next CGC Prep Class begins July 6.

Every Saturday from May 29-August 14, from Noon to 1:00 PM,
we will host EXtreme Dog Workouts, a special activity group
for high energy dogs that need intense play to be buff and
mentally sharp. No advance registration; cost is $10 per
session.

On the second Saturday of each month, we will hold a Loose-
Leash Walking Clinic. This will be on a drop-in basis, at a
cost of $15 per session, and will emphasize techniques and
equipment to make walking your dog a pleasure.

And beginning on August 21, we will once again offer our
Basic Field Skills class, for retrieving and hunting breeds
and other dogs that love to fetch.

We would also like to organize a tournament of the exciting
dog training game, My Dog Can Do That!, to benefit local
shelters. If you are interested in playing a wacky board
game that enhances your training skills, and helps to save
at-risk dogs, please email me and let me know convenient days
and times for you. As soon as we have at least four teams,
we can get started.

We are actively looking at other summer activities,
including tricks classes and sessions for dogs and kids. If
you have anything special you would like to do with your dog
this summer, please let us know your ideas.
