My puppy is about 6 months old and in the last month has just been responding to her own name.I got her when she was 4.5 months from the local SPCA and they gave her that name when she arrive three days prior to me getting her. I always would use her name in everything I did- "Annie your a good girl." "Annie, eat!", "Annie, take this treat!"and so on. Some people may argue and say it is your dog breed and smarts, but I believe there are no dumb dogs just dumb owners...pretty harsh, I know but the more you use her/his name in work and play the more your dog will start to associate "hey, that's me!"
