My golden retriever is 2 months old. is he old enough to be left along for a short period of time in his crate? if so, how do i train him to learn to be on his own for short bouts?

We left our lab for up to 4 hr's at a time at that age. After about 5 mths...they're ok for up to 8, but we would never go that long. Even now @ a year she's out of the crate, but we don't leave her past 6-8 hr's, although she'd be perfectly fine.
She was in her crate for 7 mths...and she's great outside of it now! |
