obedience in the presence of guests

My dog,nine months old, forgets her education in the presence of whoever is my guest. I always have to hold her in leash or take her outside. MayI hope she'll change and learn being composed without jumping and soiling guests dresses with mud? How do I do to obtain her obedience when we are not alone?

That is something you have to train for. Its called "distraction" training. If you haven't taught her with distractions around then it isn't fair to ask for it. have you done a group class? This usually provides a good level of distraction which will help when company comes over. She sounds like a good canditate for manners training.
