PLEASE HELP ME!
My 10 month old shepard/pit, named Puppy, WILL NOT STOP DIGGING!!!!!!! I have tried everything from filling his holes with his poop, putting his nose in the holes, jalapeno peppers all over the yard, sox on his feet. He never digs in the same spot, and never when I am keeping an eye on him. NOTHING works! Ive heard its because he needs excersize, but i walk him 5-6 gays a week for an hour or more. Can anyone please give me any suggestions My fiance says we have to get rid of him if he doesnt stop, because he might dig a hole and let our bull-mastiff out. |

This might sound silly but, have you tried watching your dog while he is outside? If so, then are you keeping him busy while in the yard? Throwing a ball, practicing obedience or something like that? The best thing for digging is to prevent it from happening, and possibly give him a certain place in the yard like a sandbox - but my personal preference is to watch him and not let it happen in the first place.

| I completely agree, but the problem is when I leave the house. I work at home so it's not that often that I am gone, but whenever I leave i come come home to my entire backyard dug up, sometimes under the fence, sometimes not. I think he might do it because I'm gone. Just don't know what to do. |

Stop leaving him outside. Its the only way to stop it - or put him in a run of some kind.
