I have a 8 year old dog that has never been one to run away until about a year ago. She learned how to jump the fence, so we tied her up for about a week and she stopped. A couple months ago she started jumping again. We did the same thing and tied her up for about a week and made the fence taller. She did it again a couple weeks ago. We added an extension to another section of fence that we thought she might be able to jump over. She was ok for a week, but today she jumped again. She never goes very far, but I worry about what might happen to her.
I don't know how she is getting over the ever-growing fence and I don't know what to do. We recently had to put down our other dog who was 17, but still have one more at home. I am at a loss.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

For her safety, I would stop leaving her in the back yard unattended. Its a scary thing to have a dog that can escape - you know the awful things that can happen. There are boundary type fences you can look into - I'm not a huge fan but if it keeps your dog safe, it might be worth a try - they have the shock kind as well as the kind that sprays citronella.
But, the best choice would be to stay out with her, watch her, and keep her active in the yard.
