I have a 4 year old border collie, female, who recently since she was in season just before christmas seems to be going to bite any men that come to our door, or for visiting. I have had her since she was 10 weeks old, and she is generally very obediant and good. My husband and I want to have children andwe are really worried, and we want advice on how to tackle the problem before it gets worse. She has never done this before now. We have tried getting the visitor to give her a treat, that works for a while but she will then follow them and try and nip/bite them. Please can someone help before the situation gets worse. We would appreciate any advice.
Thank you in advance |

In the first place, having a dog in heat can certainly change hormones which effects behavior.
You need to keep your dog on leash while visitors come over or put her away if you can't work with her. Dont allow her to practice the behavior.
If you are unsure how to work with her on this, you can always have a trainer come over to show you exactly how you should deal with it.
Good luck!
