I have two golden retrievers who compete for attention, mine and anyone else who comes into my house. As I walk, they run in front of me and the younger one, about eight months old, repeatedly bumps up very hard against my knees. She has already injured the knee of one of my relatives. How can I stop this?

teach her to walk slightly behind you on the left (heel position). If you taught a really solid heel you could get her to stay there. Never pet her or praise her in front of you - in fact completly ignore her. Only give her attention when she is off to the side or sitting perhaps.

Read this article for more specifics on attention
